Hi everyone. I've been kind off the grid for a bit but am back and getting my art groove on. Here are two collages that I made in August at Jane Davies workshop in Rupert Vt. There were six of us who lived in an old Victorian guest house and spent a week with Jane learning new collage techniques and developing personal iconography in our work. She is an amazing artist, an excellent teacher and I highly recommend taking a class with her if you are in the New England area. She is very willing to travel and take you up on an invitation to teach in other parts of the country as well. Each of these pieces has many many layers of paper, paint, and texture. It was tons of fun! The colors are much deeper in the original.

Hi SHaron, It's so nice to have you back. I have missed you! I love your new collages...especially the bottom one. It reminds me of bubbles on that left side & I LOVE it! Sounds like you had a great class. Welcome bak. xoxo Diane
ReplyDeleteQuite lovely. They could be a series or diptych. Sounds like you had a great time -- nice to have a whole week.
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies. Nice to be back!
ReplyDeleteWow, wow and wow, Sharon. First of all, this piece is spectacular in colour, depth, texture...everything. Second of all, I would love to be able to just immerse myself in learning like you did. It is obvious that you enjoyed yourself immensely!
ReplyDeleteSharon what fun! A whole week of art and friends, sounds like a great time. Love your collages.
ReplyDeleteOn another note hope your daughter is ok, that flooding is pretty scary stuff.
